The new port Tariff version with indexed tariffs has been released.

The new Tariff release contains following adjustments:

- There is no reimbursement applicable anymore on the Environmental fees after discharge of waste. Instead, all vessels at berth can discharge up to 5m2 Annex V – non-hazardous waste, free of charge, through landside (or seaside if applicable). For any sludge/bilge/sewage collection by service provider, barge-hours alongside or cubic meters will not be charged anymore.

The effective period of the new tariffs is from 1st of July 2023 until 30th of June 2024. It will be posted on our website before June 30th, located here

Please ensure you are using the correct tariff from 1st of July 2023 onward.

The indexation rate for the new version is 5.39%. This is based on the average CPI of CPI Oman (2.79%) and CPI US (7.99%). Average Oman & US CPI 5.39%.

Hereby, we officially inform you that per the 1st of July 023, Oman Maritime Waste Treatment SAOC (OMWT) will also start collecting Marpol Annex V waste via the landside as a service to ships calling Sohar port’s berths.

We are very pleased to have this service available in our port and believe that port stakeholders will benefit from this, but before most, the customer.

An ‘Environmental fee model’ was introduced and added to the Port tariffs last update. From now on, garbage discharge up to 5m2 (Annex V – non hazardous) will be free of charge at the berths. For any sludge/bilge/sewage collection job by barge, a fixed amount will be applicable.

The ‘Environmental fee model’ with free garbage collection will stimulate waste discharge and contribute to the establishment of the Marpol waste facility in Sohar. OMWT is the only licensed Marpol waste collection service provider in Port of Sohar. Their waste service covers the collection, transportation, and processing of all Marpol waste. The collection barge can come alongside and connect to the Marpol manifold for liquid waste or she can hoist garbage into skips. Garbage can also be picked up from shore side by their trucks.

Most of the recycling and processing of waste is done by OMWT themselves. They use best available techniques for extracting and purifying water from oily waste and put effort in sorting out garbage to its best next use. OMWT publishes its accountability report online meeting customers environmental policies. OMWT operations will be based on international standards for safety and efficiency.

The New Port Tariff (version 11) with indexed tariffs has been released and contains adjustments on anchorage services fees which are clarified hereunder. The effective period of the new tariffs is from 1^st July 2020 until 30^th June 2021. Please ensure you are using the correct tariff from 1st July 2020, onwards. The indexation rate for the new version is 0.976%. This is based on the average CPI of Oman (0.140) and CPI US (1.812). Average Oman & US CPI is 0.976%.

We have maintained the Port Tariffs at the same level as in 2019. However, we have adjusted the following services to make sure that we are offering attractive tariffs to our customers and port clients. We intend to further boost the growth of trade, industry and shipping and deliver a wide range of services to key markets.

The adjusted tariffs are:

1. Lower and fixed STS fees (no more GRT relation)

From 1st of July 2020, any ship calling the anchorage specifically for obtaining a Port clearance should at least order 2 marine services as listed in article 14 from the Port tariffs.

SOHAR Port has announced that the pilotage fees have been adjusted to be in line with the competitive market rates. The new fees are based on the worldwide standard of GRT classes for vessels. The adjusted Pilotage fees will be in place by 1st of April 2019 and can be found below:

Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) has announced that with immediate effect (20 July 2016) the Port of SOHAR will Round off the additional hours of port dues in to complete day Dues. The adjusted tariffs will be applicable for all vessels calling at SOHAR Port and Freezone from 20th July 2016 onwards.

Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) has announced that marine tariffs have been adjusted in line with inflation of 0.09% percent. The adjusted tariffs will be applicable for all vessels calling at SOHAR Port and Freezone from 1st July 2016 onwards.

Sohar Industrial Port Company (SIPC) has announced that marine tariffs have been adjusted in line with inflation of 1.31 percent. The adjusted tariffs will be applicable for all vessels calling at SOHAR Port and Freezone from 1 September 2015 onwards.

General information:

Any vessel that uses the SOHAR anchorage area and leaves the area prior the first five free days will not be allowed back for a minimum period of ten days thereafter, to be eligible for another five-day free period.

If the vessel returns before the ten days had passed, it will be counted as five days, with counting immediately starting upon arrival.

This rule is in place to ensure fair usage of the anchorage area and to ensure that no party misuses the five days free given, based on the intention to leave the anchorage and then return free shortly thereafter for numerous times.

Any vessel that leaves the area for more than ten days are eligible to start fresh with free time subject to a maximum of two call periods, where after the same rule above will apply and will be counted as if the vessel has not left the anchorage. Therefore full charges should be paid.

(5 days free / 10 days away / 5 days free / 10 days away): Any return will then thereafter shall pay full charges, as if vessel has been at anchor for 10 days.

• SOHAR Port Authority is responsible for ensuring that a safe and efficient environment is maintained for vessels and cargo operations.
• The SIPC Port Area Emergency Response Plan is an addition to the general SIPC Incident Response Plan. It establishes specified principles in the event of an incident or disaster occurring. It outlines the responsibility of personnel involved in its implementation and provides information on resources available.

SIPC announces that effective immediately, the Port Dues to be assessed on (RoRo) vessels carrying vehicles calling the SOHAR Port will be US$ 0.025 per Gross Ton (GT) of the vessel until further notice. For further information, please call SIPC on (+968) 26852700.

Port Dues will be levied on a vessel each and every time it enters SOHAR Port and Freezone. However, if vessels depart from SOHAR Port and Freezone to the SOHAR-designated anchorage and return to SOHAR Port and Freezone again, this will be regarded from the "port dues perspective" as one call, provided that:

1. The second port entry is to complete cargo operations of the previous call to the port and;
2. The second port entry takes place within 120 hours after the first entry to the port.

The duration of stay will be counted from the FIRST entry to the port (including the waiting time at the anchorage).

This decision will be enforced starting 1st October 2006.
