SOHAR Port and Freezone’s pioneering summer program “Maseer” 2024 has commenced, welcoming more than 350 students from the wilayats of Liwa and Suhar. This year’s three week-long initiative, conducted in partnership with Kidcity, aims to provide students in grades 5 to 11 with advanced technical knowledge tailored to meet the demands of tomorrow’s burgeoning industries.
As the second edition of this program, Maseer is set to foster development in innovative thinking, adaptability, and confidence, nurturing young minds to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions. It will arm the youth of the nation with the tools and skills needed to navigate an ever-evolving technical landscape and enable students to excel both individually and as part of a team.
Building on the success of 2023’s inaugural program, which featured a diverse array of workshops covering essential topics such as on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud data, smart cities development, web development, Arduino programming, 3D computer-aided design (CAD), photography and photo editing, and renewable energy solutions, this year’s Maseer program has been enhanced with even more specialized training workshops , led by renowned experts in their respective fields. Students will have the unique opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge by creating innovative projects and presentations, further honing their skills and pushing the boundaries of their creativity.
“Youth are agents of change and progress. Investing in their future is not only a responsibility but a privilege,” expressed Mohammed bin Ali Shezawi, Vice President of People and Support Services at SOHAR Port and Freezone. “Through the Maseer program, we aim to nurture the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers and leaders who will shape the future of Oman. By equipping these talented students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in an increasingly competitive job market and ever-evolving digital world, we are empowering Oman’s youth to become the driving force behind our nation’s success and prosperity.”
SOHAR Port and Freezone’s Maseer program is part and parcel of its commitment to advancing social welfare and socio-economic community development centered on cultivating a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing.
