Sohar Aluminium battled their way to glory, last night, to be crowned champions of SOHAR Port and Freezones annual football tournament. After a tense 45 minutes, Sohar Aluminium beat Orpic by one goal to take home the 2015 trophy.

The tournament has been a huge success with a mammoth 32 teams signing up to take part in the three-week tournament. SOHAR Freezone CEO, Jamal Aziz, was full of praise for the players, “We are extremely proud of all of the players who have taken part in this year’s tournament. They have shown tenacity and selflessness in the way that they have come together with their workmates to compete as a team. The tournament is testament to the fact that our employees and those of our tenants are our big-gest assets, on and off the pitch,” he said.
SOHAR Port CEO, Andre Toet, heaped further praise on the players, “Football is a sport which encapsu-lates teamwork and dedication. We are grateful to all of the players who took part in this tournament, as well as all of our other staff members, for consistently striving to perform at the highest level possi-ble, on the pitch and in the workplace,” said Toet.
