SOHAR is on a fast track to becoming a significant regional automotive cluster – already handling over 200,000 vehicles annually. It has become a major car distribution hub consisting of the leading industry players Oman Trading Establishment (OTE), Mohammed Saud Bahwan and Suhail Bahwan, who all have established a facility for the import, storage and distribution of major brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Renault and Nissan.

C. Steinweg Oman serves the Northern part of Oman, the UAE/GCC and transhipments to and from various global destinations. The terminal operates on a daily basis, covering 24-hours maritime services. The company has solidified operations across industrial project cargoes, among which many heavy lifts, automotive cargoes, a variety of break-bulk cargoes and dry-bulk cargoes.

In 2018, SOHAR Aluminium secured a partnership with Synergies Castings LLC, the leading manufacturer of aluminium alloy wheels in India to supply more than 24,000 tonnes of aluminium per year for the production of high-end aluminium alloy wheels for vehicles. The wheels will then be supplied directly to automobile manufacturers around the world. This partnership will create an estimated 800 jobs and produce around two and a half million wheels annually.
